Subject Block Trading And Changes To Trading Hours For Benzene (BZ) And Mixed Xylenes (MX) - Effective Sunday, December 2, 2001.

The Board of Directors approved the following changes to Benzene Futures and Mixed Xylenes Futures:

  • Block trading will be implemented, with minimum quantity requirement of 10 contracts. All other features of block trading are the same as for other CME contracts.  Block trading in these two contracts will begin on Sunday, December 2, 2001.

  • The current closing times of 2:15 PM will be maintained, but the opening times will be moved from 8:30 AM the same day to 3:00 PM the previous day (5:30 PM on Sunday for the start of the Monday session.)  These new trading hours will begin on Sunday, December 2, 2001.

  • Closing times for all Chemical contracts on Early Close Days will be the earlier of 2:15 PM, or the closing time for Equities and Indexes traded on GLOBEX.  This change will be effective on Monday, November 19, 2001.
